I am going to give a talk on the physics of punting (with an actual physicist) at CONvergence in Minneapolis in July that they already had to move out of a normal conference room to the big auditorium due to demand, and I highly doubt the NYT is going to send someone to cover it
what could your bluesky-con be about that could draw 200 people

“darthcon” would have dogs to pet and fried potato dishes to sample
i think that if i organized a “Bouiecon” where people got together and, i don’t know, talked breakfast cereals and the constitution, i could get more than 200 people to show up

There is a perfectly reasonable explanation for why color-number cadences exist in football.

The story spans the evolution of the sport.

And it involved a philosophy major that doubled as an All-American back at Notre Dame.

Moved out of my place in one day, had about 15 guys show up with less than 24 hours notice. What a wild feeling. Love the support I have.

I made this poem back in 2019 and I post it almost every Valentine's Day. I'm a little miffed it hasn't gone viral
Roses are red,
Oysters are meaty,
They're aphrodisiacs.
Let's get freaky!

Robert Plant: "I just wrote a song about a girl"

Jimmy Page (relieved): "Cool! A love song?"

RP: "Yes, about finding my true love"

JP: "Great, a classic love song"

RP: "Well it does take place in the darkest depths of Mordor. And there's a weird little guy"

JP (under breath): "fuck, this again"

Currently watch the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach and I gotta love the cameras focusing on people living their life on the beach.

I love this time of year because people will post something super dramatic and vague like “Nooooooo” and I can’t tell if it’s about football or *gestures outside window* all of this.
