Had to turn off the #SFGiants game. Watching Verlander give up 4 runs in <3 inning while we strand 4 runners in scoring position is just not a good use of my time.

Want to be clear that I'm genuinely curious and looking to learn - can anyone explain why we haven't used Birdsong in relief during this Dodgers series?
Obviously I'm not mad at what our other relievers have done, but I've been surprised not to see him.

I am something of a dummy when it comes to baseball, but I don't really see how one can defend the Giants hitting coaching at this point?
Maybe I'm totally wrong, but it seems like the more time they get with a guy the worse he hits. Pop-ups are especially bad.
