I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Minneapolis/Saint Paul neighborhoods are everything that people pretend small towns are. The local library has a “block party kit” you can take out to shut down your block. You walk to your local stores & you know the barista’s name. Neighbors take care of each other
Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!
