The Republican spending bill is a historic theft that will take from the poor to give to the already-rich.

Republicans passed this knowing people will die.

They know people will lose their health care.

They know children will go hungry.

They will own the tragic results. We can't let them forget.

If we ever again have a Democratic president, he (or she) should on Day One issue an executive order repealing every tariff imposed by executive order while Trump was president. Under the Constitution (remember that?), Congress, not the president, should be setting tariff (and other tax) rates.

NEW FOIA Files newsletter is out!

A cache of documents I obtained via #FOIA from the first Trump administration shows how its Iran policy, including the US withdrawal from a key nuclear deal, arguably laid the groundwork for last weekend’s bombing.

E. Jean Carroll is still receiving death threats daily based on Donald Trump’s defamatory lies, her attorney Robbie Kaplan just told the 2nd Circuit. “Truly graphic and horrifying” threats—“rape and killing by every means known to man,” including “disemboweling,” Kaplan said.

💯. There is no strategy, only impulses to quench an unquenchable narcissistic thirst.
We have to stop talking about him as if he is he is a man who has the ability to understand diplomacy or military tactics….or anything else for that matter. He is a pathological narcissist with limited cognitive functioning. No one should discuss him with any other lens.
Or maybe he’s psychologically incapable of acting and speaking on anything but pure impulse.

I’d like to see the same tough stance on Russia’s threat to Europe, a key US trade partner, and Ukraine - a partner in mineral deal, Budapest Memorandum guarantor, and a military partner. No one is calling for bombing - just a firmer line on Russia: stronger aid and sanctions

I wrote this week on how China has become the single most important enabler of Russian defence industry & by extension the war in Ukraine. It is still avoiding large-scale lethal aid, but there are signs it has walked up to the line, or stepped across. www.economist.com/china/2025/0...

I’m just watching this G7 summit, and man, our country is being embarrassed like never before

We’ve never had more pathetic leadership than what we’ve got right now

A totally unprepared “President” that honestly has no clue what’s going on

Other countries are laughing at us

You deserve BETTER!

But “New Minnesota warning issued after shootings of politicians” (WSJ);
“Violent action tied to politics is new reality” (NYT). ./1

Hi All, Just sent this out, giving arguments why I believe that the US government is now actively helping the Russians kill Ukrainians. Personally, I think that point needs to be stated clearly, as the US people should acknowledge the actions of their government. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...
