For Americans who didn’t get the joy of living through the Truss/Kwarteng budget, this is the point where the government starts to call the stock market left-wing and/or woke.

Agree totally, Ms Le Pen was defrauding the institution she allegedly hated. It’s quite ironic that it will bring about her downfall
Media-world: "Make a martyr out of her yadda yadda yadda."

Normie-world: "If I got a four year jail sentence for fraud, even if it was suspended or on tag, I'd have to tell my boss, I'd be fired and I wouldn't get another job."
80% of Britons say courts should have the power to ban people from standing for election if they are convicted of crimes related to elections or holding office, following French far-right leader Marine Le Pen's ban

They should: 80%
They should not: 8%

In 1862, a Union soldier found cigars wrapped in a piece of paper in a field of clover. The paper was a copy of Confederate Gen. Lee's invasion orders. The Southern sloppiness helped the Union stop Lee at Antietam.
It's unknown who lost the orders in the field, or if he was related to Pete Hegseth.

This is so dire, particularly after the lecture Vance gave Europeans on the evils of censorship. Breathtaking hypocrisy.
Marco Rubio on Rumeysa Ozturk: "We revoked her visa ... once you've lost your visa, you're no longer legally in the United States ... if you come into the US as a visitor and create a ruckus for us, we don't want it. We don't want it in our country. Go back and do it in your country."

Reminder: the First Amendment protects everyone who resides in our country. It doesn't matter if you have a green card or a visa or if you're undocumented. The Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed that any person residing in the United States, regardless of status, is entitled to 1A protections.

Ask yourself:

Why would anyone who wasn’t an asset of the Russian government do this?

Why would any decent human being do this?

I’m a Trust member & the more the Telegraph rails against its “ wokensss “ the bigger a supporter I become.
The Telegraph’s been reproducing versions of this same story for years. Wokeness and a ‘recipe for a crisis’ in membership. But National Trust member retention is higher than comparator organisations despite the cost of living crisis, and visitor numbers have been increasing.

Pretty disturbed by some of the Kremlin framing on the Trump talks being bought by parts of the media worldwide. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.

As an adult, I get it now. Star Wars at its core is a story about fighting authoritarianism.
