Trump has gotten away with shit on live TV that would be major scandals if a reporter secretly recorded him doing it in private.
honestly a little surprised that this is getting full scandal treatment from the press and i think one reason is that it is secretive. high ranking officials were *hiding* something and the (idiotic) aphorism that the "cover-up is worse than the crime" has kicked the scandal instinct into gear.

I know this is going to sound naive or earnest, but I genuinely find myself shocked by how little people seem to be upset by the levels of corruption we're seeing. Is that the median voter assumes everyone is corrupt already? Or isn't actually getting stories about the corruption?

After 1,000 National Park Service employees were abruptly fired on February 14, staff banded together to signal “dire distress” by draping an upside-down American flag from the 3,000-foot summit of Yosemite’s iconic El Capitan monolith.

If you don’t know the story of Cixi, she was the last Dowager of China and she took control by being in charge when a five year old came to the throne.

My wife understands it perfectly: Elon Musk is the empress dowager and Donald Trump is a five year old toddler.

as someone who witnessed the “pivot to enterprise blockchain” in 2016 I cannot describe the seething, inchoate rage I feel upon seeing this screenshot.

I am blinded by it. if only my eyeballs had been on the blockchain so I could find my sight again
We are in such, such profound danger. They are doing the Reichstag fire to the most crucial and foundational payments layer of the Federal Government.

The clear message he is making with that act is, "I am a Nazi." I really do not care if he thinks that's funny or something

I feel like there's been surprisingly little analysis of what a J. D. Vance presidency would look like given how old Trump is.

From the actuarial tables, a 78 year old man has a 23% chance of dying in the next four years.

All sightings of things in the sky fall into two categories:

1. There is enough evidence to identify it as something mundane.
2. It's at the edge of our ability to detect it, so we're not sure.

We've never had a clear sighting we could identify as an alien spacecraft.
Just so, so ballsy to put an image of something that we 100% know is the heat signature of an airplane on the cover of your book about UFOs.
