The Constitution really dropped the ball pretending the branches of government needed to be balanced not political parties with influence across branches. What government has been toppled by a judiciary-led coup?

But isn't one way to end the crisis for the side being defied to just give in? They're saying the crisis is over.

Then the market turned and he lost money. His only strategy was to take even more money and gamble double or nothing.

Because he is at heart a gambling addict, not a trading genius.

He took the most risk, so he made the most money when things were going well. This got him access to even more capital from dumb money (Sequoia, Tom Brady, etc.) which he continued to gamble with.

I don't think SBF is particularly smart. His initial success was basically a fluke, making massive leveraged bets that happened to pay off because the whole crypto market went up. He had no great insight into the market and the actual things he put money into were pretty stupid.

"Obviously I should start a crypto exchange and take everyone's money to make highly leveraged bets to maximize EV."

Amazon has the incentive to make the onboarding process as streamlined as possible. If somebody else could make it easier while taking a smaller cut than Amazon, that would make them a viable Amazon competitor. I don't think it's surprising that it's hard to beat Amazon at their own game.

I've heard it several times attending events in Canada. It's much more common there.

You can induce this in basically anybody by reducing calories to starvation levels for a bit. The body fights back and sends signals to desperately seek out more food. It's extremely difficult to use "will power" to overcome.

Different people have different set points where that signal kicks in.

I mean I've literally come across human feces in a public square before. If you combined all the public squares from across the globe into one, the relatively small fraction of people who are completely fine disobeying social decorum are going to be very visible.

The more tenants who make it a requirement, the more landlords will have to cater to them by retrofitting to add charging. Apartments that don't will have to lower prices to attract the decreasing pool of tenants who are willing to put up with it.

Because "has parking with an electrical connection" was not on your list of requirements when looking for an apartment. If you specifically looked for them, you would find them, like people with pets look for apartments that take pets.

I remember when doxing was something hackers did to other hackers to sic law enforcement on them. Now it's come to mean merely mentioning your name.

If you don’t know the story of Cixi, she was the last Dowager of China and she took control by being in charge when a five year old came to the throne.

My wife understands it perfectly: Elon Musk is the empress dowager and Donald Trump is a five year old toddler.

Unfortunately if they had any shame about past votes to approve lying nominees Susan Collins would've resigned a long time ago.
