Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

These oligarchs are equally afraid if “AI” as they are horny for it. They’re afraid because real super intelligence is gonna punish them. Fake intelligence though? That can be used to manipulate the masses.

Really hoping they fuck themselves, before they totally fuck over everyone else.

I’d like to encourage folks to save money. $5-$25 a week goes a long way over 5-10 years, it’s pretty crazy. It also gets easier as you adjust habits to make sure you save.

If you want to invest that money, dollar cost averaging worked really well for me even if it seemed painful at times.

It still floors me people support “checks and balances” for the government but not for the economy. Like my brothers and sisters, capitalism IS feudalism— unchecked money is unchecked resources is unchecked power.

We gotta put some checks on wealth. 1/4

A 15-year-old autistic boy walked away from his mother's fruit stand. When she called police for help, they found him, called ICE, and locked him away for weeks.

Unconscionable.
Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Fuck you, Larry. You're as shitty of a person as you were an economist. Glad everyone got to find out.

Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.
