A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

Privatisation is the fundamental reason why water is in crisis.
The only other country with fully privatised water is Chile. We’re a global outlier, clinging to a failed Ponzi scheme while our rivers choke and bills rise.
It’s time to bring water back into public hands.

Shame on Lammy, Starmer & all the politicians who “stand with Israel” through their genocidal rampage against the Palestinian people & in the wider region. The majority of people are strongly pro Palestine yet the carnage continues with UK military & diplomatic support. Disgusting. Not a democracy.

Reminder: Dr. Oz had to pay $5.25 million to settle a class action suit for promoting phony weight loss cures.

He is a conman. No wonder Trump likes him.

Now he's in charge of running Medicare and Medicaid.

Ian Dunt in the I newspaper is so right in his description of Trump as 'such a pitiful cry-baby on the world stage'. I would not be surprised to read that Trump will need to be sectioned at some time in the future.

Closely inspecting the list of tariffs/countries posted by the White House, Trump did not put tariffs on Russia. Ukraine's tariff is 10%, the EU's is 20%, and every American ally is on the list. But not Russia.

Netanyahu is openly gearing up to commit a crime of unthinkable proportions - the forced ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, with the continued backing of the US. Every sane and civilized country must oppose this.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

"There are an estimated 2.9m people in England with malnutrition.

Hospital admissions resulting in nutrition-related diagnoses in England increased by more than 39% over the past decade. Malnourished children are being treated for scurvy, bow legs, rickets and heart murmurs."
Who can afford longevity in a cost-of-living crisis?
We all need a healthy diet. So why are politicians normalising food banks and allowing malnutrition and associated illnesses to rise?

What gets to me most is that the UK government enabled foreign states to loot our essential infrastructure, milking it for profit and leaving it in ruins. Those states must think we're insane.
The Chinese government would never let us walk in and seize its assets. But we've let it do just that.
How privatisation works (and Thames Water is just the latest example).
1. A government takes a national asset built up with taxpayers' money and the work of public servants over many years, and hands it, for a fraction of its value, to a private company.
2. In doing so, it creates a monopoly.
