This one internet subculture explains murder suspect Luigi Mangione's odd politics
No one can seem to pin down Luigi Magione’s weird confluence of beliefs — no one, that is, except the members of this strange subculture.

His goodreads is stacked with airport books...following RFK Jr., Rogan, McAfee, Snowden, and AOC. CS major. Guy has all the trappings of a rightwing Silicon Valley libertarian. Interested to see if the newsmedia can make sense of his politics.

To all the analysts jumping on here to warn about tomorrow, Syrians are ten steps ahead of you.

Have some basic human empathy and let those celebrating the release of the unjustly detained, the reuniting of families, the hopes of return, and the end of a brutal regime do so in peace.

On Twitter a ton of accounts are just angrily replying and quote tweeting anyone happy that Assad fell as if we’re not extremely aware that rebels are a mixed bag and he may get replaced with a regime as bad or worse

Guys, most people know this *and* can be glad Assad’s regime collapsed

That a right-wing lawyer just suggested before the Supreme Court that Americans don't have a right to not conform is... a real mask-off moment in a way I suspect is not going to get enough attention.

Media reports are missing some important context regarding Claudia Sheinbaum’s statements to Trump: Her government now does the dirty work of the U.S. by deterring migration and detaining migrants. Mexico IS our trade partner; it’s also an accomplice to our violent and inhumane immigration policies.

There are certainly administrations that weaponize the immigration system to the fullest extent, those who wield it in the most dangerous ways possible. But EVERY administration, no matter the party, dehumanizes migrants, uses them as political pawns, and subjects them to horrendous abuse.
