Well that second goal was a lot cleaner, at least. This series won’t be boring. Bring that cup home, please!

Mark Carney deployed unbelievable levels of blandness in defence of Canada. Blandness like you've never seen.

I know we don’t really know this man yet but he’s definitely giving a great early impression. He’s a human! And maybe we can convince him to cheer for the best team eventually…
When you're in Winnipeg — and the Oilers aren't playing, of course — you cheer for the Jets. #CanadaStrong #GoJetsGo

Good lord, the #NDP machine is going full swing posting everywhere I look “oh noes, you have to vote NDP because otherwise you’re splitting the vote, and if you split the vote you’re a bad person!”

Watching the “Leaders” Debate… a bunch of squabbling little fools. These things are so hard to watch. So far, @mark-carney.bsky.social and @jagmeetsingh.ca are the least frustrating and I’m impressed at how Carney can keep any cool with Pierre yipping away like an annoying little dog.

I know Mark Carney’s French isn’t great, but I can mostly understand him so in my little Anglo world it feels more inclusive.

With my half grown out hair that looks like an aggressive mullet, and my Axion (yes, the Tazer manufacturer) ball cap, and my purple Costco soccer mom top, my running attire is designed to confuse long enough I can huff and puff far away from all trouble. So far so good.

Oh. I turned on the White House press conference and immediately learned that diversity hires at the FAA were the sole cause of the crash last night, and then a bunch more insults started so I turned it back off. Ok, enough news for today. That was terrifying.

A lot of accounts suddenly following me. Bots? Could be. I like it here though, so I hope at least some of them are people.

The push to slam out a story first has gutted what used to be our safeguard against dishonesty, corruption, and bad actors. We ate it up without knowing we were getting poisoned.
One of the things we lose, as newspapers and magazines die (and we complain about paywalls), is good journalists being able to take their time doing careful reporting, fact checked and legally reviewed. WE lose this.
