I read Civil Disobedience in high school for fun and liked it.

But reading Walden is proving Thoreau to feel more than a little pretentious. Thoughts? #books

I did a fridge-clearing dinner tonight, and it came out particularly good, so I wrote it up. And it’s a one-pot, one-bowl recipe. Ingredient amounts
are very flexible.

I remember writing a satiric poem about my 3rd grade teacher assigning too much homework.

She found the doodle and didn’t get the satire. She praised the content of the poem, saying “be grateful-like her”.

I loved this book! Love writers? Writers rooms? Learn about the process from the infamous writers of “The Simpsons” (and yes they include Conan’s stint), then you’ll love this week’s book club pick “Springfield Confidential” by @mikereisswriter.bsky.social

Martin Short is the best at roasting Conan and Conan loves it! If you weren’t in love with Marty before, you will be after reading this. It’s funny and at times even poignant. Honestly, his outlook I use still today. One of my favorite books 10/10.

Do I wish I was at the Mark Twain prize watching Conan receive it?

Time for another book recommendation—one I wish I could be doing today.

@mikereisswriter.bsky.social I’m going to put Springfield Confidential on the list to share on this accounts’ book club. And your comment about being called execrable? If Jack Benny got the same feedback, I’d consider it high praise.

I am hoping this this year's Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl halftime show starts a trend of Pulitzer Prize winners getting that gig, and next year's halftime show has Robert Caro debuting the first chapter of the final volume of his Lyndon Johnson biography which would then hit stores the following day.

I know our country is on fire. I know Trump is bad and is doing very bad things, and I often address those things with posts and reposts. But if I post a joke about my kid or my dog or a pleasant experience at a diner, don’t scold me for not exclusively talking politics 24/7. Please just ignore me.

This week’s book club read is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
Are you more a Tom Sawyer or a Huck Finn fan?
