A number of people from out-of-state have been opening tabs at small businesses—coffee shops where people on patrol can grab a drink and warm up, bars where people can be in community, etc. It’s been a deeply appreciated form of solidarity and helps the businesses closing tomorrow.

Same. People keep waiting and saying we aren’t there yet, but I keep saying it has already begun, and we’re getting dangerously close to no return. People keep calling me pessimistic, but part of the reason we learn about and value history is to recognize the warning signs before it’s too late.

Multiple times this year I’ve had coffee with fellow immigrants who grew up in corrupt third world countries and the shared sentiment has been that Americans don’t understand how bad things are going to get.

As I've said before, what we're dealing with fundamentally here, and have been dealing with for some time, is evil. Our political norms and political media prohibit talking about a mainstream political faction this way. But it is the truth. It needs to be known and it needs to be said.

Everyone keeps saying that they can't say what they hope happens to the ICE agents who are doing this but I can - they're clearly engaged in gross violations of the law and I want every Democratic candidate from here to infinity to pledge to help prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law
