As reported out of the House E&C Committee, the reconciliation bill would cut the 90% #Medicaid expansion matching rate to 80% for any expansion state that uses its own funding to provide coverage to undocumented immigrants. 14 states + DC do so for kids and smaller number cover others (3/X)

Under the "ICHIA" option enacted in 2009, states can provide #Medicaid and CHIP coverage to certain legal immigrant children and pregnant women. Most states have taken up this option - 38 states for kids and 32 states for pregnant women (2/X): www.kff.org/report-secti...

Thread. 33 of 40 #Medicaid expansion states (+DC) will now face a 10 point cut in their expansion match rate under House GOP reconciliation bill. Latest language penalizes not only states using own funds to cover undocumented kids but also states covering legal immigrant kids/pregnant women (1/x)

The so-called “moderate” GOP position on Medicaid cuts is no cuts above $500 billion.

Hello? That would mean 18 million children and 2 million adults with disabilities lose health care coverage, according to the latest estimates.

What’s “moderate” about that?

Important not to overtest. There is no test for confirming pain.

Families don’t hear what they say, they are looking at our reaction. When we order more tests, we are sending the message that families should worry.

Diagnosis needs a good history & physical exam. Not everyone needs testing.

The Trump regime is now using US Attorneys to intimidate academic journals by sending them letters demanding they explain how they ensure ‘viewpoint diversity.’ Journal editors should be public about this and coordinate to refuse to comply with these fascist tactics.

For herd immunity against measles, 92-95% of the population must be vaccinated.

As a live vaccine MMR can’t be given to pts who are immune suppressed (including pts receiving chemo/radiation or immunosuppression)

And it’s not effective in newborns.

So if you CAN get it, we REALLY need you to.
