This is Macrocillix maia & he's a moth who mimics bird poo. But he's taken it to the next level, he's also mimicking flies feeding on the bird poo, right down to the shimmer of their wings!

Il y a quelques mois, jai visité le Biodiversarium à Banyuls sur mer, un aquarium scientifique. Les dessins que j'avais fait alors ont tellement plu au biodiversarium, qu'ils m'ont proposé de m'offrir un abonnement pour y revenir quand je veux. J'y suis retourné ce matin. C'était trop bien !

Un Parasaurolophus, un dinosaure. La suite logique après un oiseau.
J'aime vraiment beaucoup cet exercice de dessin anatomique. C'est du croquis, c'est pas très juste, mais ça me détend. Ici j'ai fait l'effort de travailler à partir de photo de fossile, et pas de reconstruction déjà faites.

De temps à autre, je quitte le dessin numérique et je vais voir le vrai monde, avec de vraies couleurs.

C'est d'actualité, ce petit oiseau est un Républicain. Un républicain social, Philetairus socius. Mais contrairement au monstre qui va diriger l’Amérique desormais, lui sait accueillir : il construit collectivement des nids énormes qui peuvent accueillir jusqu'à 500 individus.
