I’m very proud to unveil the cover of my new book, Why I Care.

It’s been a pleasure talking to carers up and down the country, to help tell their stories as well as my own. We must bring caring out of the shadows.

You can preorder the book now, it’s out on 22nd May ➡️ linktr.ee/WhyICareBook

I was so pleased to meet the Nelson Trust in Bristol.

Their holistic preventative approach supports vulnerable women to rebuild their lives, many of whom have experienced the criminal justice system.

The evidence is clear: rehabilitation, not imprisonment, is the best way to reduce re-offending.

That must be one of the most Orwellian statements ever. It’s bad enough to cut people’s benefits. To pretend some kind of higher “moral” duty while you’re doing so is insulting and offensive

This headteacher knows “Improving speech and language is a foundation for everything.”
Two-thirds of children at risk of exclusion have speech and communication needs. My @london-vru.bsky.social is addressing this with oracy interventions in primary school.

In just one year, it has led to 98% of children narrowing the gap to their peers and 60% meeting vocabulary standards.

This is PATHETIC!

Labour taking nationalisation off the table before it even STARTS its review of Water sector.

Tell them we’re having none of it👇💪💪
🚨BREAKING - Steve Reed has just launched the biggest review into the water sector since privatisation.

But wait…..he says the commission can’t even consider public ownership. 🤯

We need to act quickly to change his mind. ⏰

Emerging #bilingual toddlers are sensitive to both the phonological and semantic similarities between two languages and can use this knowledge to support their vocabulary development.

Labour under Attlee, with far greater economic challenges than today, had boldness, vision & a compelling story. Starmer’s Labour fails on all 3 counts, which amounts to laying out a welcome mat to Farage.
