Cast down the mighty from their thrones and lift up the lowly.
Wow. I think Nuzzi might genuinely be the worst prose stylist in the English language. What a time to be alive!

I'd *like* to be extremely concerned about the marines being deployed to an American city and the scientific committee that determines vaccine schedules being disbanded, but I'm gonna hold off until the Distraction Knowers give the okay

"Warfighter" is such an embarrassing neologism. It's so smug and self-satisfied. It has every hallmark of the most obnoxious 2010s progressive jargon but without even the pretense of correcting any real issue. It's "chest-feeding" for reactionaries.

Millions of Americans are going to lose friends and family to preventable diseases under this White House. Their agony will be real regardless of who they voted for. When that happens, it's going to be more useful to say "you were betrayed" than "haha, you voted for this, leopardseatingfaces."
In the coming weeks, a lot of slow-on-the uptake folks are going to begin belatedly realizing Trump is both an inept moron and a dangerous autocrat. Our great civic challenge in these trying times will be calmly welcoming them aboard instead of primal-screaming in their faces.

I do think one issue Trump is going to face as things go along is that he is uniquely ill-equipped to deliver a message that Americans must tighten their belts and forgo personal comforts in order to further a national project.

Okay, but what if I do genuinely think he's a wildly overrated author, that he's always written about sex in questionable ways, and that I think his work needs some serious reexamination in light of recent revelations?
A month or so ago I saw a post by someone saying "we should all admit that Neil Gaiman has always been a shitty writer." That whole knee jerk revisionism. No, man, that's part of the whole horror. He's an internationally recognized writer. Objectively a good writer. But he's also a fucking monster.

Love the people saying that "nobody will remember this Biden thing in 6 months." You idiots! THIS is the kind of thing people remember for decades!

My father-in-law is a builder. I asked him what it would cost to build this today. I will never forget his answer…

“We can’t, we don’t know how.”

It takes a lot of balls for Alan Lichtman to complain of disinformation while wearing a wig that fake.
