Cast down the mighty from their thrones and lift up the lowly.
It does help to explain how she's managed to assemble so many prominent defenders.

Did wealthy widows just dress like this in 1973? Have we lost so much?

Um... what the fuck is this????

The way he employs that phrase without explanation strongly suggests to me that it's some kind of term-of-art in the elite predator community.

So so many of the people I've heard evangelizing AI ultimately seem to use it mostly to draft emails that take about 30 seconds to do manually.

I attended a talk by an attorney and the example of how he personally used AI that he talked about with the greatest clarity was having it tune his emails to prosecutors to be either more or less snarky.

There's definitely a connection there, but it's the idea that the evangelical has a very specific vision of what the end/times stuff looks like specifically that I think is really overstated.

I think it mostly comes down to the word "Israel" being in the Bible a lot.

I think for most American evangelicals it's less a "finally we can get them to leave" thing and more of an "I have a vague sense our group was responsible for their suffering so this is a kind of implicit reparations" thing.
October 6, 2025 at 2:11 PM
Yep. Evangelical support is way more grounded in sort of nebulous ideas about the Jews being God's chosen people and Israel basically being God's favorite country (possibly more than America). Most normies are not thinking about exotic eschatology very often.

And it didn't work in 2024 because it was all SPECULATIVE. Now that all of these things are actually happening out in the open the arguments read very differently.

People are used to these people dying at the scene so seeing one of them actually evade police for any amount of time feels surreal.

That makes sense for Patel and the like, but I don't see the governor being excited to play ball there.

Or it could be that they're just used to shooting targets with a deer-hunting rifle.
September 11, 2025 at 1:34 PM
I think they're afraid of being targeted if they aren't seen as being sufficiently moved. That and they want to show how seriously they take violence
September 11, 2025 at 1:22 AM
Lady, you put out a dizzyingly self-pitying statement riddled with factual inaccuracies about one of the most pressing catastrophes of our time. You fucked up. I know the social media panopticon has been deployed against you in unfair ways before, but this time it was just on you.

The fact that the people who are into astrology get so *defensive* about it really belies the idea that it's all just harmless fun. And people can go really fast from playing with horoscopes because they know they're fake to obsessing over them because they're "obviously true" pretty fast!
August 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Absolutely.
August 7, 2025 at 12:29 PM
Sure, or playing with those paper fortune-teller things or whatever. But there's a point where it crosses over from a party-game or a pickup line to something else. If it's influencing your decision-making it's no longer harmless.

Astrology was all over original fascism. It's all the same shit.
August 7, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Serious answer: does the religion/tradition promise spiritual rewards or some kind of supernatural power over the tangible world?
August 7, 2025 at 12:12 PM
It literally doesn't though. Astrology definitionally involves putative predictive power or control over the future and the natural world. Mainstream religion does not.
August 7, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Faith healing obviously fits into that, but there's nothing about going to a church potluck that delegitimizes medicine.
