Passionate about good beer, good cider, good food, and getting things organised; always seeking beer and food adventures. Hungry for Art.
Out to see Clock DVA tonight, and to drink Signature Brew and Big Penny beers. Made up that I got to see a bit of DVA's soundcheck! Now drinking a decent West Coast style BP IPA!

Enjoying my first visit to the Queen Charlotte, the ex-Draft House in Fitzrovia, recently rejuvenated by the Blue Maid team. Great selection of beers, and their martinis look the business too

I'm safe to go back on social media now I've caught up on the F1 qualifying! The rest of today has a slight folk horror tinge to it. Seeing Morris dancing and crossbones stories at Ben Edge's exhibition at the Fitzrovia Chapel, and @cravenfaults.bsky.social later at the ICA

Tried out the Waitrose Dan Dan paste to make lunch today (as I'm always in a noodley mood at lunch). Not bad - needs more Szechuan spice though. I added tahini to the mix and Lao Gan Ma on top, and a few ladles of chicken stock as a broth. Will make again.

Painted tonight, but it’s nowhere near done, so instead here’s a piece I did in 2024 called Frosty Twilight (16”x20” mixed media). I went through a whole birches phase and this was part of that series.

Anyhoooo….who’s ready for Monday?! I’m not! Lol #art #painting #mixedmedia #sundayscaries

Mouth now on fire. My own fault for choosing the big boy Scotch Bonnet to put whole into the curry goat. It disintegrated with 3 hrs of cooking and spread its heat all over the show!

Time to get this goat underway lads - it'll take about 3 hours cooking in the oven after this

Really enjoyed The Running Man - it's quite different to the 1987 version, but I've read it's more in line with the novel - so next week's task is to read the novel! Also, great to see a bit of Glasgow concrete in the shooting locations
Going to see the new @edgarwright.bsky.social adaptation of The Running Man tonight at the lovely @curzon.com Aldgate. Luckily Film4 screened the previous Arnold Schwarzenegger version last week so I enjoyed a re-watch of that

“Housing estates, factories, tower blocks and caravans, nowhere is safe from Ray Newman’s dark imagination. Existing somewhere between Robert Aickman and J.G. Ballard, these blackly funny tales are sure to chill you.” – John Grindrod on Intervals of Darkness. Go on, treat yourself. (Treat me.)
Between them ‘Municipal Gothic’ and ‘Intervals of Darkness’ have 27 stories full of haunted buildings, haunted people, and working class weirdness. Obviously *I* think they're great – but so do strangers who owe me nothing!

This is really sad news. I first tried Rogue here in KL in 2012, and while other brewers have come and gone, they've been an ever present on the craft beer scene.
