She was right to hang up! Don't talk about the facts of your federal indictment on a podcast! Or anywhere except your lawyer's office!

It seems like every time I make the time to watch the Blue Jays they win. So all Jays fans out there, you can thank me, this is obviously because I'm paying attention tonight

I have to work tomorrow and with time zones, I can't call in and listen to the Oregon TRO hearing, so please, someone liveskeet it so I can read a play by play tomorrow. I want to know the tone of voice used, who interrupts who, and any "oh shit" moments
Thank you kindly!

The Supreme Court - in theory, about what is permissible under the constitution. In practice - whatever the guy that gave me my lifetime appointment wants to do is just fine by me. I might justify it, I might not

For no particular reason, just thinking about the scene in V for Vendetta where Gordon Deitrich decides to air a sketch that wasn't approved by the gov. Evey asks him if he's worried and he said no, he's popular, he'll get a slap on the wrist.

Labour Day is important for me. Unions and the labour movement have given me so much, like others, such as fighting for living wages, the weekend, vacation and sick days, etc. But it's more personal for me. My father was mistreated at work for years. It started small but grew more toxic.

The amount of damages he's suing for? 10 BILLION DOLLARS
WSJ claimed the Trump–Epstein article was an “exclusive.” But what if I told you they fully intended to show it to people? storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Grade 10 science class. It was nearing the end of the semester and the teacher did not give a fuck anymore. He asked us what distance/time gave us. We answered "Speed". He said, "That's what we're watching today" and we watched Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock

Whatever the gov can do to your enemies, it can do to you too - we need to be very careful when we determine the criteria for denaturalization
On a similar note - be careful what you wish for. When I am evaluating new bills before the Senate, I like to ask myself, “How might this new power be used or abused in the hands of a different kind of Prime Minister?”
And it does beg the question: should citizenship be something that we take away based on a petition?
Is that a door we want to open as a country? Are we looking at populist movements worldwife and saying "you know what would be good? Public votes on whether you get to keep your rights as a citizen"

The best part about therapy is that you can say "I didn't feel like doing the homework and here's why" and suddenly it's a breakthrough and emotional awareness and I'm growing as a person because I'm learning how to say 'no'

Watch The Wicker Man from the 1970s as it actually had good reviews on rotten tomatoes and thought I would give it a try. There is an excessive amount of singing. I also feel like this would go down better if I was a tad bit high?

Asking my husband about the theories behind fascism and he managed to turn it into a conversation about typography.
Apparently Fraktur was considered very "German" by the nazis, until someone said it had Jewish roots, and they literally switched the writing style in Germany to distance themselves

Question for my American friends. There is a lot of talk about voter registration right now, which is dramatically different than in Canada. In Canada, if you file taxes, you just check a box that says to share your info with Elections Canada, which keeps things up to date

My elderly father called to tell me that my mother is in the hospital with covid. She has other health conditions and the covid is stressing her body and it can't cope. I asked when the last time she had her vaccine was and he went on an anti-vaccine rant.

So, an account has been created by the X team to reveal the “unlawful directives issued to X by Alexandre de Moraes”. Problem is, those documents are confidential and allegedly contain the addresses, full names and social security numbers for all the people X was supposedly protecting.

Look, I'm just a silly Canadian, but if you need to cite Dred Scott to make your legal argument, your legal argument is based on bad law and probably racist. And I don't know why we should give the benefit of the doubt to people who make those types of arguments

I'm not saying that violence is okay, or that she was justified. But you take a person who is mentally suffering, falsely imprison them for decades, and subject them to the poor conditions of jail, you are not going to get a mentally healthy person who is fully accountable for their actions.
Personally if I was severely mentally ill to the point of spending most of my childhood in psych wards and I was wrongfully locked in prison for 40 years for a brutal murder a cop did, I might do a bit of violence here and there too idk
