One of the most shameful incidents of WW2 was when the government and press scapegoated refugees, then decided to pack them off an a cramped ship, The HMT DUNERA and ship them to Australia.

As they boarded the boat they were stripped of the valuables and robbed by the guards.

Now government policy

We must keep working to strengthen our post-Brexit relationship, secure a better deal for all, and show that working more closely will benefit us both.

For Shabana Mahmood to attack some of the most cruelly treated people in the world as having won a "golden ticket" because they manage to get to and claim asylum in Britain is unforgiveable.

A new, far right, low for which I can think of no precedent, by any UK Government.

Labour’s plan risks weakening protections for all of us. Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should and should not apply to. Ireland–France trade up 30% since Brexit UK–EU trade down.
Ireland now has 37 direct shipping routes to France (up from 4). France is investing heavily in Ireland & exports are booming.
Britain?
Shrinking farms, collapsing food production, ports dying & a government that is in denial.
