One attorney for the Education Department's Office for Civil Rights said the job became “impossible" as their caseload went from 60 to 380.

“The people who remain are doing all they can. We’re doing all we can. But it isn’t enough, and it keeps us up at night,” they said.

Hotline callers were saying, “I do not want to be part of pointing a gun at US citizens and maybe shooting it.”
Is the US military poised to experience a new surge in conscientious objectors?
For troops experiencing ethical dilemmas, following one's conscience can be costly.

The Supreme Court just ruled that Trump can dismantle the Department of Education

Justice Sotomayor:

“That decision is indefensible..The majority is either willfully blind to the implications of its ruling or naive, but either way the threat to our Constitution’s separation of powers is grave”

Quick question. There are still almost as many troops in LA right now as there were at the end of Afghanistan.

Why exactly?

Also where are the mass deportations of white illegals, like from Russia?

Trump and his cronies claim they support immigration as long as it’s done legally.

But today, thousands of Afghans in the U.S. lose their Temporary Protected Status. They’re here legally and would be targeted by the Taliban if they had to return home.

The cruelty is the point.

“The … theory that Epstein was blackmailing powerful people with tacit government support was not crazy. (Unproven, yes. Impossible, no.) The crazy part was that this theory had been assimilated into the pro-Trump worldview. Epstein had been Trump’s buddy.”

Cancer drug Revlimid is one of the bestselling pharmaceutical products of all time, with total sales of over $100 billion.

It’s also extraordinarily expensive, costing nearly $1,000 for each pill, even though that pill costs just 25 cents to make.

The Price of Remission
When I was diagnosed with cancer, I set out to understand why a single pill of Revlimid cost the same as a new iPhone. I’ve covered high drug prices as a reporter for years. What I discovered shocked…
