I practice thinking to myself “what does this tiny human need?” And imagine being palm sized. It deflates the desire to be a superhero. Whenever I take care of the tiny human, I have more energy

The only way out is through & the only way through is together

My new practice to manage the pull of overwork is to ask myself: what would a tiny little human do? Not a baby, but a pocket sized person, and for some reason my system wants to work together to care for my Lilliputian self. What does your tiny little human want to do?

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

Happy birthday USA

Avoid the violence/nonviolence debate. It’s a trap.

The only thing that matters is what actions lead to more justice and less harm.

Inaction and complicity in the face of brutal oppression is the worst form of violence. Never forget it.

Managing despair: 1) time with loved ones 2) deepen into existing communities (professional, hobby-centric & spiritual communities etc), 3) turn to art—create it, read it, watch it 4) time in nature 5) grow your spiritual practice: prayer/meditation/reflection/journaling. In person=best
