Fan of the Spider-Man Trilogy from Sam Raimi. I like Spider-Man and Venom
don’t know how or why people nowadays say “Venom was never a villain”, because it’s clear to anyone with media literacy or morals that Eddie was an awful person. He used his perceived suffering, which was mostly self-inflicted, as a moral license to lash out and hurt others 1/3

Venom is such a bloodthirsty maniac that he was literally about to kill some witnesses just because they couldn’t recall which way Carnage went. Venom will kill almost anyone as long as he can come up with some delusional justification to satisfy his warped sense of morality 1/3

Next time you have an idea that seems too crazy, just remember that John Woo once walked into an office and said "I wanna make a movie where Nick Cage plays John Travolta playing Nick Cage, and John Travolta plays Nick Cage playing John Travolta," and someone wrote him a check for 80 million dollars

In The Hunger comic, Eddie is seen in a theatre (the film playing is actually Taxi Driver) and sees himself as separated from society’s “undesirables” which he purges very similar to how Travis sees himself, and both Eddie and Travis achieve a sense of catharsis through violence

Travis Bickle is basically the proto-Venom. If you’re a fan of Venom, then the similarities and parallels between them should be incredibly obvious

I am so tired of Venom adaptations straying from the delusional person concept just because some get uncomfortable or bristle at it

think TASM1’s Lizard design misses the mark. His face design sucks and doesn’t have the snout or prominent sharp teeth, he’s missing the lab coat, and he’s massively oversized

I think it’s more interesting when villains are closer to the hero’s size and more realistic in scale

Why can’t people wait until at least Dec. 1st to put up Christmas decorations? I don’t get the rush to put them up as early as possible

SM3’s final battle is peak because the root cause of it boils down to two egotistical men who are responsible for the circumstances which led to it. Peter’s ego led him to humiliate Eddie when exposing him, and Eddie’s ego led him to refuse to own up to his role in his downfall

Truthfully, I resent Venom being a character portrayed mainly with CGI in the SSU films. Venom is not a character that is so massive or complex that you can’t mainly portray him using an actual actor in a suit with the CGI only being for the jaw and tongue or the webs/tendrils

Cinephile moots, recommend me some films you think I should watch. Any genre

One of my favorite small details in Spider-Man 3 is how Eddie has pictures of Gwen on the desk he's given when promoted to staff photographer at the Bugle

Venom should have lips since he has a mouth complete with enamel-looking teeth, gums, and a tongue, whereas Carnage shouldn’t have lips nor would it be possible for him to have them anyway due to his traditional mouth design lacking the features or traits of Venom’s mouth

If your Venom isn’t anything like this, then I don’t want him

Just watched Tremors 2 and loved it as much as the first one. Even though Kevin Bacon is sorely missed, I did enjoy the return of Fred Ward and Michael Gross and the new additions Christopher Gartin and Helen Shaver. I also enjoyed seeing the advancements made with the monsters

Watched Tremors last night. An incredibly fun film that’s a ride from beginning to end. I absolutely loved Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward and the chemistry they had with each other and Finn Carter. And the design of the monsters themselves is incredible and believable.

My hot take of the day is that Raimi understood Venom better than 95% of the fanbase

I love talking about Venom. Whenever someone brings up Venom irl, I get so excited and have to contain myself to prevent my excitement from showing too much

When discussing Venom adaptations, fans often judge them based on how much Eddie got screwed over by Peter, but it’s actually all the preexisting details that establish Eddie as a deeply flawed person who’s already a villain even before he becomes Venom that makes it interesting

Just finished watching Apocalypse Now: Final Cut. A riveting and compelling film that points out the absurdities, hypocrisies, and incompetence of Americans troops during the Vietnam War

Sometimes when I post about Spider-Man 3/Venom, a random user will pop up and go “erm where’s this revisionism coming from?”. Bitch, I’ve always liked Spider-Man 3 and that version of Venom from day 1. Even when I was critical of the movie a few years ago, I still always liked it
