I get being annoyed at people who say Venom only works as a villain or should be pure evil but I think there’s a more nuanced and interesting way to go about this topic rather than sticking your fingers in your ears and going “Venom was never a villain/was always an antihero” 3/3

However this doesn’t mean I view Venom as a purely or inherently evil villain, but rather more so as a deeply flawed person who’s unable to properly understand or cope with his role in his downfall

It’s clear that Eddie views his actions and villainy as a justified response 2/3

Also we can’t forget about when Venom tried to kill MJ because she tried to defend Peter 3/3

Carnage’s justification for killing is that he needs no justification, while Venom hides behind a thin veneer of self-righteousness in order to rationalize and justify his violent actions and behavior. Venom in many ways is not much better than Carnage 2/3
