Charity vs. Solidarity

Charity asks, “How can I help them?”

Solidarity asks, “What do we need to build together?”

Charity is transactional - it’s about giving to feel good.

Solidarity is relational - it’s about investing in shared survival.

When systems fail us it’s community that saves us.

Before there were corporate sponsorships there were friends passing envelopes under cell doors, commissary money pooled together, or a ride to a court date given without question.

That’s the heart of mutual aid: solidarity keeps our people alive.

When they mass produce the fuck-robots, will you* be fucking robots, or is human to human intimacy too important to you?

"The most common causes of strokes in young women are pregnancy, post-partum, birth control, and migraine-related. The most common modifiable factors across gender (what strangulation would be considered) are smoking and hypertension"

Thank you for debunking this @nicolerprause.bsky.social!
I got tired of reading this fake statistic that strangulation during sex was the "second leading cause of stroke in young women".
It's not.

Is “strangulation” really the second cause of stroke in young women?

When sex is exchanged for money, it collides with two deeply entrenched cultural beliefs: that sex should be private, moralized, and tied to love, and that women’s labor should be undervalued or unpaid.

Selling sex disrupts both of those norms at once, which invites judgment and distortion.

"Oklahoma lawmakers are suggesting that a new state law aimed at "adult performances" means municipalities must predict what sorts of events might become obscene and preemptively prohibit them. It's a clear recipe for chilling protected speech—especially drag performances"
Bizarre how sure Oklahoma lawmakers seemed that they banned drag performers with a law banning obscene performances ... Now that they found out that, no, it doesn't work like that, they're trying to convince local governments that they have to pretend it does reason.com/2025/11/03/o...
Oklahoma's obscenity bait and switch could ban pride parades and public drag shows
These lawmakers expect local authorities to ban "obscenity" before it happens—a recipe for chilling a wide variety of legal speech.

“End demand” laws—often marketed under name of the Nordic Model—are frequently touted as a one-size-fits-all solution

The logic sounds straightforward: if you punish clients who purchase sexual services, the industry will collapse, exploitation will end.

But decades of evidence tell us otherwise.
