Indiana created an age-verification law that would never work. It was warned it wouldn't work. And now that it hasn't worked, it's suing adult companies for failing to make it work.

"It essentially bases liability on the failure to accomplish impossibilities."

In other words, AV was a set up.

It began in 2003 in San Francisco, when sex workers and allies gathered to mourn the victims of the Green River Killer - women whose lives were erased not just by one man’s violence, but by a society that barely noticed they were gone.

#D17 events:
I've put all the ones I found in the quoted thread. ^^
It's missing one last update with five or so Europe events.

To narrow it a little: there are four at bsky.app/profile/dz-y... and a bunch more from bsky.app/profile/dz-y... on.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing quite a few on the USA, though. :/
🗓️ #December2025 #Events 🧵

A little preview as usual, details below.
This month is not as packed as November, but there are some niceties~ ^^

And, I hope, some more will turn up for D17. ❤️

(🗒️ PS: I will be updating this. If uninterested, remember you can mute it!)

As we come to the eve of December 17, this day of remembrance, we hold space not only for grief but also for vision. December 17 is about honoring those we have lost, but it is also about insisting on the possibility of a world where sex workers live free from violence.

A reminder that in Colorado, if a crime is committed against you while you are working as a SW, you CAN report it without fear of being charged or cited for your activities during said crime.

Hopefully more states adopt this!

Instead of offering support or justice, many law enforcement systems treat sex workers as criminals first and victims never. Reports of assault, rape, or theft are routinely ignored. In some cases, officers themselves are perpetrators of abuse, trading safety for sexual favors or threatening arrest.

Your regular reminder that when social media people say "Grok", they actually mean Musk's sycophantic chatbot, MechaHitler.
NEW: Elon Musk's Grok chatbot will, with minimal prompting, provide residential addresses of everyday Americans.

Prompts as simple as "[name] address" immediately returned accurate home addresses of private citizens — alongside other personal info we didn't ask for.

This is what they are being sued for?

"Prause and Levy concluded NoFap, which promotes abstinence from masturbation and viewing pornography, is not an effective means of treatment. They also maintain that pornography is not addictive and shouldn't be presented as such in public health messaging"
Alexander Rhodes, founder of NoFap, the much-maligned anti-masturbation group, has filed suit against researchers he claims are part of a vast conspiracy to defame him, along with Aylo, owner of Pornhub, and 150-year-old peer-reviewed scientific journal Taylor & Francis.

Unlearn the language of “good,” “innocent,” or “wrongfully.”

Let go of any preconceived notions you had about “criminals.”

There are no “good ones,” there are only people. Innocence is irrelevant because the laws have already betrayed us.
