Note: ovarian cancer survivor for 5 years. My tumor cyst developed in the six months of the first lockdowns. I was diagnosed (during complete hysterectomy) on 4/9/2020. Post-op chemo (6 max doses every 3 weeks). Last chemo was jan 2021. First vaccine in April 2021. Had every booster since.

#asoiaf thought about Stannis and the quote about him being like iron - brittle. This is Donal Noye’s opinion as former armorer of Storm’s End. Donal’s opinions have weight and merit and wisdom, but it’s often used in an absolute sense - that Stannis cannot bend and adapt. /1

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.
