Well damn. I found a great cocktail - The Squeaky Wheel. The Negroni is my favorite. I’m always open to a Negroni riff. I also love a mezcal cocktail. I went down a Negroni riff rabbit hole & found this tasty number. Roasty, sweet, herbal, & smoky - A great combo. imbibemagazine.com/recipe/squea...

This thread left me dead. D-E-A-D. Dead.
it was less than 6 months ago a lady threw away her entire career to have an emotional affair with a man that looks like Krang from the ninja turtles

Well would you look at that kiddos. We got us some new Deafheaven! Love this new song. It feels like a progression from where they left off after New Bermuda. Can't wait for the new album. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2h_W...

So first off, I have been really enjoying this beer lately…That said, am I getting called out? I’ve been bitching the past two winters that there just aren’t enough stouts/porters on the shelf. Does wanting a basic stout now make me the old guy yelling at kids to get off his lawn? #Beer #Stout

Well I’m packed and ready for my first camping trip of the new year. A basic overnight an hour+ south of here at Dinosaur Valley State Park. A shortish 1 mile hike to a primitive camp site.

Umm okay. Last year was basically ok for me. Not sure I need, or want a do-over year…

A proper Christmas Eve at my sister’s house. Ate a bunch of tamales. And we’re now settling in to watch a Muppet Christmas Carol.

Sad to hear this. I’ve met her a few times. She was always nice. Before she decided to be stupid, & go full MAGA, she was one of the few elected Republicans I respected.

This does beg the question - She’s my rep, & has been MIA for six months. So who’s been sending out her official emails?

Tamales have been steamed. Taste tested one, and they are delicious as usual. My masa might be a bit under seasoned, but still good. I have two pounds of fresh masa left. Might whip up a batch of green chile chicken tamales. #Cooking #Christmas

A day behind, but it’s finally tamale day bitches!! At the end of the day I should have a small, 5 dozen, batch of tamales for the Christmas season. #Cooking #Christmas

Merry Christmas y’all. Time to start on my pork tamales. When all is said and done, I should have 5 dozen tamales to carry me through the holidays. Always want more, rarely, if ever, do I have the will to make more. Props to all the Abuelas making 100s this time of year. #Cooking #Tamales #Christmas

So fucking over millions of people isn’t a good look for a medical insurance company? Up next in the “no shit Sherlock” headlines, volcanologist declares lava is hot.

Umm i love me some brussel sprouts…But im not sure i want to buy “sexy” brussel sprouts…. www.theguardian.com/business/202...
Brussels sprouts will be 25% bigger this year, thanks to silt and sea breezes
Farmers say good growing conditions will result in a bumper crop, with the average sprout 30mm in diameter

Not a Sagittarius, but I can’t help but love the deep cut. Great film.

My first bake in my restored Wagner Ware Krusty Korn Kob pan…Still hung up on the spelling… It was a success!!! Little pre heat, brushed with oil, and they slid right out. I figured a 100 year old heirloom deserved an heirloom cornbread - Used some tasty heirloom Bloody Butcher cornmeal. #Cooking

So I see that Elon is hanging out with his/Grimes' son. The man is the wealthiest person on the planet, but he is also a notorious dead beat dad. Interesting that after a CEO was murdered in cold blood, he is now "Father of the year" out in public with his youngest kid. Coincidence? I think not.

At Tulips here in Fort Worth with my nephew. Here to see indie rapper Mavi. Not gonna lie. First time here since it became a concert venue. Hard to be standing in the space that held one of my favorite breweries. RIP Collective Brewing Project. Y’all were awesome while ya lasted.

Seized this frosty morning to go on a late fall hike. Finally got my fill of fall foliage. There are pockets of natural beauty here in the city if you look for it.

Related to the conversation about the CEO’s assassination, I posted this just ten days ago.

Again, I’m not justifying violence but reminding folks that, historically speaking, businessmen and billionaires who screw over ordinary people wind up reaping the whirlwind.
Someone should remind the billionaires that before workers had the right to organize and join a union, disgruntled employees occasionally resorted to using bombs and bullets to make themselves heard.
In politics clarity is its own opportunity. The storm of the 2024 election has created great clarity. The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, and 3rd richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos, are currently asking a group of Trump judges to end the right to organize & join a union in the United States.

Whelp…After a good amount of elbow grease, the crusty rusty Wagner Ware pans cleaned up nicely. Four layers of seasoning. Will have to give em a test run soon with cornbread. Not really sure what reason they had to buy the little pan. But it was clearly well used. Little before and after action -
