I don‘t mean to be harsh, but I really think that a fundamental problem of UK Governance is that the entire debate surrounding it is focused on what is *politically feasible* in the short term and not on which issues/ threats need to be addressed, and fast.
Your logic relies on a vanishing world.

Depressing but likely
Brilliant but devastating editorial in the Financial Times.

“In the past 10 days, he [Trump] has all but incinerated 80 years of postwar American leadership. If you are not at the table, you are on the menu. America has turned.”

Making a ridiculous post about tariffs on Truth Social was his secret plan to end the war in 24 hours? What a ridiculous clown show. Idiocracy.

Canada and the European Commission need to suspend X operations and investigate whether or not these allegations can be corroborated, if yes, lawsuits, sanctions, and an Interpol red and silver notice are necessary against X Corp, Elon Musk, and his collaborators.
Elon Musk's and X's Role in 2024 Election Interference, a letter from an alleged X whistleblower.

"What started as US election interference has now spread to other countries. We're currently doing the same thing in Germany and other European nations."

The cashier said "Strip down, facing me." How was I to know she meant my debit card? Plus, I can't go back to 7-Eleven anymore.

“Ideas outlast reality” (or, if you prefer: contradiction between base and superstructure) is, along with contingency, possibly the most important insight one gets from studying history.

It takes people a long time to understand the world they live in.
But coal as an idea — big, tough men (approaching Trump with tears in their eyes) has outlasted coal as a reality. West Virginia thinks it's a coal state, when in reality it's mostly a health care state (supported by Medicare and Medicaid, which the people it votes for want to cut) 4/
