I know it has been said before, but it is worth repeating: The same people who are putting their hands over their ears and eyes saying that Republicans won’t come after Social Security, are the same people who said Roe would never be overturned.

Slow and steady will prove more effective than fast and unfocused—This is a time to prepare.
Note to the Resistance: Protest Takes Planning. Learn From Dr. King.
The protesters of the civil rights movement didn’t just show up. They planned for every eventuality. It’s a lesson that’s starkly relevant today.

Bernie Sanders is holding MASSIVE rallies in packed venues, bigger crowds than Trump was getting, and legacy media is practically silent. Bernie is talking to workers rather than hanging out with socialites with mediocre plastic surgery at Mar-a-Lago, and it's just not interesting to corporate media

Rightfully, the yellow Star of David armband Jews were forced to wear is what we think of when we think of the Nazis, but the Nazis had many enemies and had a symbol for each of them in the camps.

🚨

One of the Biden Executive Orders that Trump rescinded yesterday was one from 2021, establishing the United States Council on Transnational Organized Crime.

Wonder why Trump and his allies would ever want to get rid of that effort?

John McCain labeled campaign finance "a system of legalized bribery" in 2001. Before Citizen's United, before the even more creative ways to line the pockets of elected officials are seeing now.
It was the worst of times, but it was out in the open.

The asymmetry between the two parties is so stark. While Republicans could not possibly be clearer about the fact that they don’t accept the legitimacy of their opponent, Democratic leaders appease, accommodate, and acquiesce in the name of bipartisanship and “unity.”

A sad, pathetic spectacle.
This comes after Republicans in the North Carolina general assembly executed a radical power-grab in December, stripping the incoming Democratic governor and attorney general of crucial authority and shifting power significantly to the GOP.

The Republican Party is explicitly out on democracy.
Happening in North Carolina right now: A Republican who just lost a state supreme court election is using a horseshit legal theory cooked up by Republican activists to ask the Republican majority *on the same court he wants to join* to overturn his loss and make him a justice anyway

First, here’s what we know about how and why Harris lost ground.

Based on VoteCast data, we can estimate ~19 million people who voted for Biden four years ago stayed home.

(40% of those voting in 2024 had voted for Biden in 2020, and 40% had voted for Trump. From there, it’s simple arithmetic.)

Class warfare is when there’s a limit to what poor & disabled people can earn before losing their benefits, but no limit to what billionaires can hoard while avoiding taxes.

We must reject the twisted idea that money incentivizes the rich but poverty incentivizes the poor.

For Canadians, once you're in the hospital, the province takes care of the bill.

No one in Canada has ever declared bankruptcy because of hospital bills.

America is, in fact, alone in this regard.
