When I was a little kid my aunt would sent me to a farm in her village to get fresh milk. I thought for a good while that it was raw milk since it was fresh (& warm) Turns out it was warm because the farmer had pasteurised it right after milking his cows! Not even your farmer drinks fresh milk RAW!!

My big problem with the phrase “granola fascism” is that granola is delicious as hell, granola does not deserve to be catching strays like this. “Raw milk fascism” is more appropriate. Thank you.

I remember our students in Edinburgh complaining that they didn’t get enough feedback. They did get feedback though, but it was all written feedback to their assignments. What they really wanted was a personal relationship with their tutor/lecturer. Don’t think that wish has changed.

Not at all concerning to learn that Universities UK are partnering with a company to sell an AI product that offers automated feedback on student work. Who needs staff?
LinkedIn promoted post about Universities UK's partnership with a firm called Studiosity, who are offering universities a free trial of their "AI for learning (not corrections), for formative feedback at scale)". Text from the announcement which says the AI technology "means all students can benefit from personalised formative feedback in minutes, including guidance on how they can demonstrably improve their own work and critical thinking skills. Actionable insight is accessible to faculty and leaders, revealing the scale of engagement with support, cohorts requiring intervention, and measurable learning progress."

It also needs a lot of practice. It’s not like you can decide today that tomorrow you’ll sew your own clothes and that’s that. Sewing clothes, that looks great/is wearable, is a highly achieved skill set.

“Sewing your own clothes to avoid tariffs” seems like a good idea until you realize it’s very expensive, takes a ton of time, and just about every component — from fabric and thread to sewing machines — are made abroad. I do think this is a great time to learn how to mend clothes, though!

He also greatly appreciates, and, typically for him, is moved by the extraordinarily broad and steadfast support he has received from a variety of communities that understand what is at stake. He is in ICE custody in Louisiana, and arrangements have been made for local attorneys to visit him today and tomorrow. The remarks by government officials, including the President, on social media only confirm the purpose – and illegality – of Mahmoud's detention. He was chosen as an example to stifle entirely lawful dissent in violation of the First Amendment. While tomorrow or thereafter the government may cite the law or process, that toothpaste is out of the tube and irreversibly so. The government’s objective is as transparent as it is unlawful, and our role as Mahmoud’s lawyers is to ensure it does not prevail. Today Mahmoud's legal team, which includes Kyle Barron, CLEAR, the Center for Constitutional Rights, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Amy Greer filed a motion to compel in federal court in the Southern District of New York, as part of the habeas corpus petition filed on his behalf over the weekend, seeking an order requiring the government to return to New York for any immigration proceedings.
