Last night at the St. George Campus of #UofT We had a beautiful snowstorm in downtown Toronto, pure powder coming down. It looked like small pieces of silver where whirling through the air.

Going through the book is quite a trip to pre-revolution times, especially when looking at the advertisements which are spread all over the book. There’s Tide, Milkmaid and Osterizer. Bacardi is still made in Santiago de Cuba.

We have this beauty in our home library. Curtesy of my husband’s great aunt. It’s a treasure chest. And the plan is to eventually cook some receipts from this book this year.

What a book to read during the recent events in South Korea. Han Kang’s book was my first introduction to what happened in the aftermaths of Park Chung-hee’s assassination and the Gwangju Uprising.
