Delighted to say that an updated and expanded version of my series on one of the most extraordinary acts in aviation history will be running on The Up Front over the coming weeks.

And even better: it's now completely free to read.
In December 1941, Pan Am flight 18602 was trapped the wrong side of the Pacific by the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

To get home, her civilian crew would need to do the near-impossible: circumnavigate the world in commercial seaplane.

In our new series, we tell tell their remarkable story.

Trump hosted a Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago. Very fitting. Celebrating the period of grasping bubble economics that led to the worst collapse in history combined with smug puritanism that grew crime at an unprecedented rate.

This is why the inflatable costumes works so well -- it works the same way calling them "weird" or "creepy" did. It disrupts their narrative, and makes them seem pathetic rather than cool-and-cruel.
You need to see this:

As a huge fan of the film "Scaramouche", this was a great breakdown of the fight, one of favorites. Though be warned there is a spoiler for the end of the film if you haven't watched it. And if you haven't go do so now! www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQGV...

read this thread. absolutely chilling. forcibly inserting ICE ads into a podcast, and deliberately manipulating the mechanism through which creators have any control at all over which ads are included. this is horrible
I'm supremely mad and I'm going to rant about it.

I have a podcast. It's hosted by ACast. They do dynamic insertion ads prior to the show, which I've enabled. These are basically the commercials you might hear before the show starts.
