and I think the part it really, really, really, really crystallized - like a thing we all new, but they straight punched us in the face with it - is that Elites vs Rabble is so much more important to them as a line of demarcation than any vector of ideology or belief or politics

this is acutely dangerous for the current national political context, because the ambiguity means that politicians can easily interpret to suit their own ends without being called out on it

The absolute least that the WSJ should do is acknowledge that the sources on which they relied upon were wrong and that their reporting, which amplified those sources’ claims, was also wrong.
