The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

I’m quite enjoying the 180 turn on a six pence from “you’ve wrecked the economy and created a black hole” to “there was no black hole and this is even worse”.

Two stories you may not have seen this week that would be a big deal in a normal country:

1) The ‘dossier’ detailing the BBC’s editing of the Trump speech literally edited Trump’s speech.

2) The NBER calculated that Brexit’s longer term damage to GDP was greater than originally forecast.

As I suspected, Trump is citing The Economist's description of his 100 days as "the most consequential of any President this century" and indicates he may start subscribing. He does not quote the article's warning that he has "done lasting harm to America's institutions, alliances & moral standing".

He’s got away with untold crimes, lies & offences. He’s achieved the highest office in the land. Twice. He’s lining his pockets on an industrial scale & persecuting his enemies for fun. But he’s still a miserable, bitter, humourless & furious man. Because deep inside, he knows *exactly* who he is.

So on the pardon front, we have a day when an outgoing president feels the need to pardon lots of people who haven’t committer crimes, and an incoming president who will likely pardon lots of people who definitely have (Jan 6th insurrectionists).

This company likes to portray itself as akin to numerous small local brewers. It is, in fact, a giant corporation backed by a US private equity firm.
James Watt Brewdog's CEO is worth £262,000,000 he is refusing to raise the wage of his staff in London by the £1 an hour to keep them at the National Living Wage.

Brewdog is apparently a 'nice' company, but wage freezes don't seem very nice.

Do they?
