Unsure whether or not SaskTel being a thing factors into SK being an outlier. But also, their bills are still cheapest in Canada, so what does it matter anyway.

In AB, $0.95/month on cell phones.
NB, $0.97/month on cells and landlines.
NFL&L, $0.75/month on cells.
QC, $0.54/month on cell and landlines and IP phones.
SK, $2.17/month on cells.

All that said, I'm pleased these reports exist. If you're a muni nerd, I believe this is a small but important matter to keep an eye on for the next few years.

But here's what I found most interesting, all the way in the Appendix of the report #2. The part that compares how BC funds E-Comm 911 with other jurisdictions: "BC has no direct provincial oversight for PSAP service delivery and does not impose a levy on cell phone"

Report 2: Tailored specifically to provide the Province advice, with some financial analysis with a recommended framework going forward which is basically to tighten up the pre-existing model of today.

There were 2 reports issued.

Report 1: E-Comm has failed to manage itself properly in lil + big ways that have added up, which has led to unpredictable service fee increases that police forces have to bake into their budget asks. The report's recommendations are scathing re: accountability tbh

It's been an interesting course in conceptualizing insomnia as, the way I see it, functionally a physiological and mental response to/manifestation of anxiety. Then we wind up "practicing" insomnia without realizing it!

Can't wait for UBI + real wealth taxation. The real cure!
