When I was born, almost all hospitals were not-for-profit. Now health care is almost exclusively for-profit. We the people could buy out for-profit health care “insurers” and providers, adopt single payer? Redirect the profiteering to expand services for deprived areas. It makes too much sense.
The United States of America will have single-payer healthcare that is free at the point of service.
We will win.

IDEA: We (the people) buy out all shareholders in private for-profit health care & insurance companies. Replace the CEOs and boards, federalize all other employees, transition everyone (including VA) to MEDICARE with no copays or deductibles. Lift the income caps to fully fund. Negotiate to save $.

I for one would call them stunts AND say that it is unequivocally good that they are doing them AND that I should very much hope that as elected officials in a democracy they are seeking to meet the expectations of their constituents
I am hearing people on our side describing Brad Lander, Mayor Baraka & Senator Padilla's arrests as "stunts" designed to boost their electoral prospects.
