GO Expansion will still transform Greater Golden Horseshoe transit — but likely won’t be as ambitious as what was planned just three years ago

Metrolinx has decided that they know how to run a railway better than the Germans at DB who made up ONxpress. A huge loss of talent for transit in Toronto and Canada and easily as catastrophic a move from Metrolinx as the agencies performance on the Eglinton Crosstown.
As of yesterday contract with OOI (ONxpress) and CAD Rail terminated. Alstom seeking a 4-10 year extension now.

As Danielle Smith made clear, Poilievre is “in sync” with Trump. We can never let him win. #TeamCarney

While I think it makes sense to get help from French HSR companies.

For the future, we should be building up VIA Rail's planning and operation capabilities for HSR. Most countries with HSR have a nationalized operators or nationalized planning and design capabilities. Lets future proof ourselves.
Feds just announced #alto. High speed rail from Toronto to Quebec City, with stops in Peterborough, Ottawa, Montreal, and Trois-Rivières. This will be a game changer if/when it is built.

I think one of the funniest irony’s about the whole “Build Canada” initiative is that they couldn’t even be bothered to pick up the .ca domain for it, opting for the .com.

Like come on, couldn’t even be bothered to show up with a Canadian domain for a Canadian project?
What is it about getting rich off of one very specific thing that makes wealthy white tech bros think they're qualified to Do Politics and Policy

(Just kidding, we know what it is. It's them wanting to make even MORE money but knowing that would require tax rules and other regulations to change)

Fighting for a just Canada, which so many of us have been doing for so long, assumes there's a Canada to fight for in the first place.

I'm in for a fight against the Trump regime, because we get to decide how we want to live together.
