I feel like what publishers took away from Baldur’s Gate’s success is that every game needs to have like 5000 hours of content, instead of the much more valuable takeaway imo: you need to let players have sex with a demon lady and a man who turns into a bear

I have been singing the praises for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to anyone who will listen to me, but I'll say it here too:
If you love narrative, story-driven RPGs with a focus on companions, do not miss this game. Yes, it's a turn-based JRPG. There are ways to make the combat easier (PM me).

I have been singing the praises for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to anyone who will listen to me, but I'll say it here too:

Exactly. I might be old-fashioned uptight English, but I can't actually believe that the world needs to hear constant noise about how emotional I, a privileged white person who hasn't experienced crisis x or y, feel about seeing x or y.

Discomfort is not harm, and if you're made uncomfortable by the work of a total stranger who does not know you exist, you can just process on your own and move on. You do not need to make it anyone's "fault" and no one needs to be "held accountable" for it.

If you dislike something or it makes you uncomfortable, that’s okay! But you don’t need to let the creator know. You don’t need to let anyone know, honestly. You can just ignore it and move on with your life. Fandom is about enjoying the things you like, not bashing the things you hate.
