Tonight was the inaugural ride of our new home buyout program. We connect with vendors too scared to be out, and we purchase from them at home. Tonight we bought 250 tamales, divided into 3 teams to deliver all over the city to folks on the street, Love Fridges, and a youth shelter.

Our Montrose & Kimball tamale lady came through with delicious delivery directly to the Halloween party we went to last night. Individual tamales were huge and the champurrado was great for an October outdoor party. DM me if you want deets!

Families were making their way to the neighborhood Halloween parade being held two blocks away from this tear gassing. This is life in Chicago these days

It remains insane and unacceptable that local elementary schools are having to ask the neighbors to come out and patrol student pick ups because the government is kidnapping people.

Feds just took 3 workers that the foreman says are US Citizens from the same corner they teargassed two weeks ago (Wilson and Sawyer) – these fuckers are seriously just rolling up and kidnapping anyone that looks brown regardless of status

ICE is just driving around my neighborhood today kidnapping landscapers and other workers (one at the corner where my kid is in preschool) – this is so, so fucked up

Yup.

A few months ago, I pointed out that part of the reason for ICE employees covering their faces, was that some of them were likely government contractors and not law enforcement, and so has no legal authority to detain.

People that know nothing about criminal justice reform yelled at me.🤷🏿‍♂️
The Supreme Court is about to decide whether private contractors can break the law—and get away with it.

After being sued under state human trafficking laws for forcing immigrant detainees to work for free, the nation’s largest private prison company, GEO Group, wants blanket immunity.

Well, the sheer number of people marching out of the Unity Park family protest sendoff tied up traffic at Diversey/Milwaukee/kimball six corners for a solid 25 minutes at least, so I’m guessing the downtown one is going to be absolutely massive
