City of London lawyer Andrew Milne bought up hundreds of freeholds on homes across Sheffield before advising leaseholders that, if they didn’t pay him exorbitant sums (upwards of £25,000), he’d see them in court. Well done @sheffieldtribune.bsky.social @joshiherrmann.bsky.social for exposing this.

Here’s a thread on how I cut household bills by £240/month.

When I was on parental leave I had the time to research and switch every contract to cheaper and better services.

It’s a bank holiday so if you’ve time, do any of these and save ££. (Referral codes included but I use all of these myself.)

Toby Carvery deserve a roasting for this.
A 450-yo oak is felled without permission by a Toby Carvery (don’t eat there), who falsely claimed it was "dead".
A tree alive when The Gunpowder Plot was hatched, which supports a web of 2000+ species, is in pieces.
Legal protection for heritage trees needed.

One man is standing up for the rule of law in Britain. His reward is to be savagely attacked by right wing think tanks, newspapers & politicians. They understand where the battle against populism is taking place. And they've marshalled their forces accordingly.

The full report by the Tony Blair Institute is out, in which they detail how copyright should be "rebooted" in the AI age. It reads like a big tech lobbying document. I hope they will be asked serious questions at its launch in London today.

I'm working on the de-Americanisation of my life and business.

Partly to reduce risk, partly to improve privacy, partly to get away from supporting the technofascists.

It'll take a long time, so I'm starting right away.

This will be a (long-)running thread of my thinking and progress...
