I’m in a lounge at Heathrow and as a SUPERB eavesdropper I just need people to be having far more interesting conversations.

Happy Sunday boys…..jetting out of Heathrow for some winter sunshine ☀️

I'm not sure how one gets *lost* at Heathrow, but I can definitely see how one gets *frustrated* at Heathrow.

Lowest temperature at London Heathrow this month so far is 4.8C the European model forecasts a HIGH of 4C in London on Thursday.

The average high has been 16C so some 10-12C lower than we have been used to! Get winter wardrobe ready….

Going into shops and gasping at the prices is my favourite pastime whenever I'm waiting at Heathrow airport.

How do you miss the giant purple "flight connections" signs in Heathrow? OK, international transfers can be confusing anywhere - I had to get through Brussels once in a hurry, going from Turkey to the USA, and Frankfurt wasn't exactly fun either. But the signage at Heathrow is absolutely enormous.

Everyone is dunking on poor Noah Smith for getting lost and frustrated at Heathrow Airport and blaming him, which is victim-blaming and I am quite disappointed in all of you. Put the blame squarely where it belongs: on whoever failed to pin his name and destination to his sweater-vest.

I’m sorry but this whole Noah Smith Heathrow situation is so fucking funny. Centrist thought leader with PhD from University of Michigan struggles to navigate basic airport transfer, blames it on the relative economic decline of Western Europe

Europe's biggest problems:

* Extreme right parties destabilize society
* Insufficient cross-border integration reduces scale
* Putin is threatening invasions
* Heathrow has difficult plane transfers

Woke up STRESSED bc I was an hour late leaving for my flight out of Heathrow, hadn’t packed, and the concierge was blowing my phone up…then I realized I don’t even live in England anymore, am not flying anywhere, and certainly have never had a concierge 😂 dreams are so weird.
November 16, 2025 at 3:24 PM
I have been that dumbfuck (not at heathrow) but it was my fault
November 11, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Yes but Noah Smith got lost in Heathrow, so it's the UK that is really broken.

No Elizabeth line or Heathrow express and the Piccadilly is having a meltdown. Not great when flying from Heathrow

18.3c the confirmed max at Heathrow that’s warmest it has ever been this late in year (1948-2025).
Amazing how there are some people in London dressed like they’re going on Arctic expedition.

Today’s preliminary max of 18C (64F) at London Heathrow - exceptionally mild for mid November. It smashes previous daily highest max record of 16.5C set on this date in 2009.

My flight in from London was totally empty, btw. I struck up a chat with a Heathrow worker (literally the terminal was empty!) who told me that between Trump visa threats, the Natl Guard, and shutdown, tourists have canceled all US plans in numbers he'd never seen before.

As an American who has lived in London for 13 years, I believe the following:

Signs at Heathrow are clear, logical, & comprehensible to speakers of American English;

Americans who know little about the UK but shit on it suck.

Good morning, Bluesky 👋☕ Today, #Cafster will be reviewing coffees at Heathrow Airport to pass the time...and watching planes take off and land.

Unfortunately it appears I have to choose between two ironclad aspects of my personality today: Br*tain is a mess and Noah Smith is one of the internet's greatest morons.

Having done an international connection at Heathrow this year, the latter wins by a country mile.
