World AIDS Day is a time for all of us to pause and remember the lives impacted by HIV/AIDS in the #FightingFifth and around the world.

A future without AIDS is possible—we must continue to fight for it.

We are seeing autumn reds on maple trees and others much earlier this year, these were taken in Pound, VA on the southern side of Pine Mountain.

What Israel is doing and has been doing for nearly two years now in Gaza is simply wrong, immoral, and utterly horrific and the U.S. government (and by extension we the citizens) are complicit in this unless we loudly, publicly say NO.

One September long past this little grasshopper stayed still long enough to have their portrait taken.

Early every Sunday morning hubs and I have breakfast at our locally owned casual dining place. Been doing it for more than a decade. Great community resource. Love the folks work there. Usually pretty quiet at 8 am.

I created this account while my primary account was suspended for two weeks. Found I liked having a feed that wasn't clogged with lots of posts from people trying to "boost" accounts. Not planning on following back people who don't make original posts on a regular basis.

at the end of August the golden rod is just beginning to show up (one from this year and one from a past year).

Mayor Brandon of Chicago responds to a question from a reporter if pushing back will make things harder?

“Can you imagine if my ancestors would have had the same rationale? Let’s not fight against the Confederacy. Let’s just try to get along, and maybe one day they’ll give us our freedom?”

the weather channel tells me that we will have at least another 10 days of these marvelous cool nights before it warms up again. I often see these red spotted newt efts in late August when it cools, haven't spotted one yet this year so this is from a few years ago.

If you haven't seen this yet, be sure to watch it. If the present political/social/economic moment has you terrified, overwhelmed, and feeling alone, be absolutely sure to watch to the very last second!

Overnight temperatures dipped to 50 F, a tiny harbinger of autumn in the air, and on my car windshield.

*UPS is laying off employees and/or offering buyouts due to tariffs (less shipments coming here), and people are ordering less because we’re all struggling.

We are about to CRASH CRASH. Buckle up!

*Source - my brother works for UPS and told me plus I just Googled it to confirm.

we don't get as many wild sunflowers these days because the trees have grown up closer to the yard and there's too much shade, so these are from Augusts past. I do miss these shiny yellow faces.

Today are some pictures of my cat Jake back when he was feral and lived outdoors. He's been indoors for six years and isn't feeling too well, so has to go to the vet for a few days to figure out what's going on.

One of my favorite wildflowers blooms in late August, called virgin's bower, it is a opportunistic vine that weaves its way through other wild shrubs, and has a delicate white blossom. First picture is this year, the one's with bumble bees from previous years.

Restarting my series of daily posts of mostly flora & fauna in my neck of the eastern Kentucky woods. Photographs are from past as well as present, all photographs were taken by me, & unless otherwise designated are from eastern Kentucky, either my local neighborhood, my yard or local region.

Five days ago I was locked out of my old account & received below e-mail. I followed instructions & filed an appeal. I have yet to hear anything, so I have created a new account. I have no reason to believe that I posted or re-posted anything that would violate standards. 🧵
