Trump’s military action against #Venezuela, without Congressional approval, is unconstitutional.

In December, I voted to restrict military action in Venezuela. The American people are looking for lower costs, not endless war.

It is the honor of my life to serve the #FightingFifth, and this year was no exception. I carry with me each and every conversation and experience you share with me each day, and I can’t wait to keep fighting for you and your families in 2026.

This year, the fight for Black Maternal Health in the #FightingFifth and across the country did not stop. During Black Maternal Health Month I authored an op ed alongside In Our Own Voice President, Regina Davis Moss, appearing in the AJC.

This year, I fought back—and continue to fight—against the Trump Administration’s assault on our public health. From standing with laid-off CDC employees to holding RFK Jr. and HHS accountable, I will never stop fighting for your health and safety.

This year I hosted 42 events across the #FightingFifth, including a Joint Town Hall this summer with Atlanta Councilwoman Andrea Boone.

Meeting you where you are will always be a priority.

Congratulations to Owen Daum from Westminster Schools for winning this year’s #FightingFifth Congressional App Challenge.

Owen’s app, RogerThat, focuses on safer skies and saving lives by creating an air traffic control simulator to help pilots better understand air traffic control cadence. ✈️

This year, Ms. Caroline, a beloved Senior in the #FightingFifth, called my office and shared with my team that she was terrified as the SNAP crisis began due to the Republican shutdown. When I got the message, I called Ms. Caroline back, and my family and I brought her the food she needed to get by.

#MerryChristmas from our family to yours. May your season be filled with the spirit of peace and love. 🎄✨
December 25, 2025 at 5:41 PM
Tis’ the season for showing up for one another, especially as Trump’s economy drives the cost of the holidays higher for families.

A great day giving back with Ms. B and the Saving Grey team in #EastPoint! Merry Christmas, y’all!

Stopped by Scotch Bonnet Jamaican Eatery in the #FightingFifth to update the owner—and my constituent—on the fight to protect his healthcare and forcing Speaker Mike Johnson to bring a vote on ACA subsidies to the House floor. I may have also grabbed a plate!

From dragon balls to superhero academies, our digital landscape is constantly changing—and so is the creative process behind it. I joined the largest anime convention in the Southeast, Anime Weekend Atlanta, with my son Carter, where we learned about more than just Naruto!

This week, I ended the legislative year focused on the most important fight—lowering costs for families—and I will keep fighting for the #FightingFifth and families across the country. Tune in next year for more #NikemasNotes!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. told us, “Of all forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane because it often results in physical death.” (1/2)

Families in the #FightingFifth and across the country deal with heirs’ issues—homes and land without wills or a name on the deed—my family included. (1/2)

The Republican healthcare plan isn’t a plan at all, and it doesn’t address the increasing premiums that working families in the #FightingFifth and across the country will face if ACA tax credits are not extended. (1/2)
December 17, 2025 at 6:51 PM
ACA tax credits must be extended. If they are left untouched, working families in the #FightingFifth and across the country will be forced to choose between healthcare and putting food on the table.
Urgent update.

Our bipartisan petition to force a vote on a straightforward extension of the Affordable Care Act tax credits now has 218 signatures.

Mike Johnson should bring the bill to the floor immediately.

The price of toys, trees, and the cost of living are up this holiday season, and Donald Trump’s response is to call it a “hoax” and tell you to buy less for your children.

Trump’s economy is the gift that keeps on taking all year round.

The 'festival of lights' is a time for loved ones and friends to come together. May these next eight nights be filled with peace, light, and joy! #HappyHanukkah to all celebrating in the #FightingFifth and beyond.

I I am heartbroken to hear of the tragic attack at Brown University.

Students, teachers, and everyone in our country should be able to live without fear of mass gun violence. (1/2)

This week, I led a Know Your Rights event, reaffirmed reproductive freedoms, and fought for increased awareness of endometriosis. Catch up on the rest of my week with #NikemasNotes!
December 12, 2025 at 10:18 PM
I reintroduced the Endometriosis CARE Act for the 1 in 10 women in the #FightingFifth and across the country who live with endometriosis — myself included. I see you, and I hear you. (1/2)

I signed a congressional discharge petition to extend the necessary Affordable Care Act subsidies. I’ve had #FightingFifth constituents tell me their premiums are estimated to quadruple in some cases, and others who are choosing to sell their businesses if healthcare costs rise. (1/2)
