Is Matt Walsh important enough to warrant this type of self pity? He’s been melting down on Twitter all day over the Young Republicans chat scandal and how it’s not that big a deal, then “context,” then how it should have been internal, now his life is in danger so he just doesn’t have time for it.

Hypothetically speaking, if Biden had used an EO to appoint Mark Cuban as the head of an Office of Government Integrity to investigate all subsidies awarded to corporations, the republicans would have been totally cool with that, right?

One of the first things I learned in my career as a choral director is that no matter how strong a program appears, no matter how well established a system looks, it only takes one bad year for it to be gone. We’re all learning that now.

Most days I’m happy I left my cultist religious upbringing behind. But sometimes I miss the belief that there is a being out there ensuring that the adversity we are facing will ultimately serve a greater purpose.

I think what was most inspiring about President Carter was that he did so much of his most important work once his political career ended and his influence was gone, at least in the US. He used that freedom to really make a difference in the world.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you accomplish this weekend is reading a riveting novel cover-to-cover whilst drinking multiple kettles of tea and consuming a scandalous amount of croissants, then you will have accomplished more than enough.

We did a would-you-rather writing exercise about food in class today and I learned so much about my kids- they love to write if you let them write about something they have feelings about. And I’m a choir teacher.

Which are worse- the ones who voted for him because they bought all of the lies/were ignorant of the truth, the ones who knew the truth and wanted it anyway, or the ones who let the perfect be the enemy of the good and didn’t vote or voted third party?
