I know everyone is sick of hearing this but Dorothy is a mom’s friend’s name, NOT a mom’s name. If your mom is named Dorothy: SHE’S NOT REALLY YOUR MOM

Is Matt Walsh important enough to warrant this type of self pity? He’s been melting down on Twitter all day over the Young Republicans chat scandal and how it’s not that big a deal, then “context,” then how it should have been internal, now his life is in danger so he just doesn’t have time for it.

How long is this going to go on? Is anyone going to stop the madness?

Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who, 60 years ago, marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, risking everything for the right to vote and the promise of true freedom. Their courage paved the way, and it’s on us to keep pushing forward.

I was on the other site and someone said we don’t need NOAA, we survived tornadoes just fine for hundreds of years without it. So everyone better hope Uncle Jim’s knee stump tingles in time to make it to the storm cellar. MAGA, amirite?

Hypothetically speaking, if Biden had used an EO to appoint Mark Cuban as the head of an Office of Government Integrity to investigate all subsidies awarded to corporations, the republicans would have been totally cool with that, right?

I do this constantly. If you get a DM from me it is DEFINITELY me and if I ever ask for your credit card info it’s for a GOOD REASON.
Question, do you ever DM random followers asking if they are “one of my super fans?”

One of the first things I learned in my career as a choral director is that no matter how strong a program appears, no matter how well established a system looks, it only takes one bad year for it to be gone. We’re all learning that now.

Most days I’m happy I left my cultist religious upbringing behind. But sometimes I miss the belief that there is a being out there ensuring that the adversity we are facing will ultimately serve a greater purpose.

School choice in Texas: the party that believes in small government and personal responsibility wants to subsidize private education and home schooling for people who are already using it, at the expense of the public education system they destroyed, because billionaires want it.

My shameful habit I’m trying to break: I have a ridiculously capacious tote bag full of stuff I might need that I carry every day. The following is an actual list of stuff that the bag includes:

I think what was most inspiring about President Carter was that he did so much of his most important work once his political career ended and his influence was gone, at least in the US. He used that freedom to really make a difference in the world.

Jimmy Carter was the first President I can recall being aware of and probably the only President in my lifetime who, upon death, will be remembered as a fundamentally decent person

The only one of Stephen King’s books that I’ve never reread is The Cell. I’m rereading it now and it’s hitting way too hard.

Growing old as a teacher is horrifying. I keep having to google words to make sure they’re actual words I remember and not buzzy middle school slang. Today’s word: Spatchcock

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if all you accomplish this weekend is reading a riveting novel cover-to-cover whilst drinking multiple kettles of tea and consuming a scandalous amount of croissants, then you will have accomplished more than enough.

We did a would-you-rather writing exercise about food in class today and I learned so much about my kids- they love to write if you let them write about something they have feelings about. And I’m a choir teacher.

Which are worse- the ones who voted for him because they bought all of the lies/were ignorant of the truth, the ones who knew the truth and wanted it anyway, or the ones who let the perfect be the enemy of the good and didn’t vote or voted third party?
