Does water always recede prior to the arrival of a tsunami?

I was asked this yesterday after posting a graph of observed water levels at a station in Hawaii, which shows water levels first *increasing,* contrary to what many have heard about tsunamis.

The answer: no, not always! A thread... 🧵 1/9

This month I defended my master's thesis in Bioinformatics at @upf.edu! In my internship at @ki.se in @ejvillablanca.bsky.social's lab, I used bulk, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to study changes in ulcerative colitis patients. Looking forward to keeping working in this exciting field!

#Bluetorial: In our latest paper on #gdTcells and #IBD in #ScienceImmunology we found that γδ IEL number and regulatory function are severely compromised BEFORE ileal inflammation occurs, suggesting that γδ IELs may maintain IEL homeostasis in response to a pro-inflammatory microenvironment. 1/n

My dear colleague Gustaw Eriksson has just published a comprehensive cellular atlas of the endometrium in women with PCOS, showing cell-type-specific disease signatures. This reveals new promising therapeutic targets for PCOS-related endometrial dysfunction.

Inspired by the other amazing starter packs - here's one for cancer researchers!

I tried to make this broad - from immunology to genomics to cell biology and so much more..

This list also includes organizations & institutes supporting cancer researchers 🧪🔬⚕️🩺

Hope its useful!
