What’s the most perfectly cast role in cinema history?

A little obvious, but Kevin Kline in a Fish Called Wanda

If your business model doesn’t work without breaking the law, then you’re not in business.

You’re in organized crime.

Actual masculinity is looking at this preening weirdo and laughing because whatever performative nonsense he's talking about smacks of fear and self-loathing.

Anyone who gives you a list of behavioral rules for being "a man" is someone you can confidently ignore.

happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been!

with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.

“Don’t use academic language” I’m not an academic. Academic prose is nothing like what I write. This anti-intellectual insistence on oversimplifying everything is what makes everything seem shallow. People long for a “real” that’s been trivialized away from our lives by everything being superficial.

Here’s a tip for critics, in particular: If you’re having trouble figuring out how to start a review, skip ahead and write the plot summary. You always have to write that part anyway, even if it’s super short. It’ll help you get into a writing rhythm, and the tone of the piece will lock into place.
