Never forget that Trump was the culmination of 40 years of stagnant wages, widening inequality, corruption, dog-whistle politics, and economic gains for the rich.

If we fail to address this, we should expect future Trumps as far as the eye can see.
The Big Picture: How We Got Into This Mess, And How We Get Out of It | Robert Reich
I’ve been in or around politics for over a half-century now. I’ve watched as corporations ransacked our system. In 1952, the corporate share of federal tax revenue was 32%. In 2020, it was down to 7%. Here’s how we break the corporate oligarchy and return power to the people. Remember everyone was worked up over Hillary’s private server and how that could have threatened the U.S.? Yet Musk and his lackeys are using private computers to access U.S. federal databases with not so much as a bat of an eye. Make it make sense.

I hope ByteDance takes the high road and doesn’t sell out to any American buyers. I hope they keep what they have for themselves. As much as I’d miss TikTok, I’d have great satisfaction in knowing not one red, white and blue bro got their sticky fingers on it.

Neo-nazis are the most apocalyptically stupid people on the planet.

Imagine using the freedom and tolerance provided by a society that protects the right to dissent to fight for less freedom, no tolerance, and a society that would kill you if you dissent.

Fucking oxygen thieves, every one of them.

What if we just didn’t go back to TikTok? The ghosting, the lack of care—it’s giving toxic. Trump “saving us”? Yikes. What if we stay here, chill on YouTube, and look for a platform that treats us right? Feels like time for a healthier digital relationship.

Two reminders:
1) Trump initiated this ban on August 7, 2020 with an Executive Order
2) Our leaders can’t get anything done to actually protect us, but they were able to ban TikTok

Watching TikTok fall off the rails before my eyes was pretty crushing on so many levels. So many of us are displaced and it feels like we’ve been through a disaster. Sadly it’s just the beginning. #tiktokrefugee
