4 hour graveyard shift in The Lair upon my return, been a top night but wired to fuck w/synaptic cracklings related to MS obsession and altogether too much caffeine. Fear sleep may be elusive, so thank fuck for the #cricket. Time to light the fire 💥
She's not on here but i've been out for a curry with Naomi Booth tonight. As lovely a lass as you could ever meet, one of my best friends and one of my very favourite writers.

"A brooding and bruising psychodrama about the anxieties of 21st century motherhood, that links the primal potency of the female body with the northern landscape’s elemental power" according to Stu Hennigan on the website + back cover 💯💯💯💯💯

In the last 24 hours I've heard about an amazing publisher who've just taken a massive hit in funding, and a local arts org/venue/community group in Leeds who've been doing amazing work forever who've lost 40% of their funding and half of their small team of core staff, all of which is related.
Tories want putting against a wall. Never forget Cameron and that poisonous cunt Osborne started all this, they can't be let off cos of the succession of shitshows that followed. Buckets of blood on countless money-grubbing hands.
The outgoing chief exec Tom Riordan said a couple of years ago, "councils are no longer sufficiently funded to provide the services expected of them."

Diabolical genius of austerity is a lot of folk don't know how LA's are funded so it's councils who are see as the bad guys when services disappear.

The Roses soundtracked some of the maddest years of my life, so many amazing memories that can't be separated from those tunes. Don't normally feel stuff like this but fucking gutted to hear about Mani today.

Go-Go's/Belinda Carlisle too. Here's a vid not listed public on my YT cos it's far from perfect and next to impossible to sing if you're not a proper vocalist with actual skill, power and range but i fucking love this song and i'm determined to nail it one day 🤘🤣

On #TransDayofRemembrance, I want to honour the memory of every single trans person hurt by a monster and every single trans person who felt they couldn’t live in a world full of monsters.

If you don’t want trans people to exist, get help. Fix your heart.

It’s you. Not them.

Noticed the last coupla years it feels like in about 90% of my personal relationships the energy only ever flows in one direction I do my best not to let it bother me when things are hectic for everyone but the more i think about it, the more i realise it properly bums me out.

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 excellent book.
Today is Trans+ Day of Remembrance.

In her book 'Before Gender', author & activist @elierlick.bsky.social shed light on the trailblazing lives of thirty trans people who will radically change everything you've been told about transgender history.

But imagine heading a party elected with a gigantic mandate to DO something to change all this, and instead refusing to take measures to reduce child poverty to score political points while mithering on about refugees and single sex bogs. Every bit as despicable as the cunts who preceded them.

I wrote in @prospectmagazine.co.uk at the start of last year that 2025/6/7 was going to be a bloodbath for what's left of the UK's public services. LCC is one of the more financially responsible authorities in the UK so if it's this bad here christ knows how it is everywhere else.

“since the start of 2010 the authority had seen reductions equating to a real terms decrease in funding of £465.9m - 70% of its overall budget”

and people are wondering why the UK is “broken”

it’s not “boats” it’s austerity

My grandmother, bless her drunken soul, liked to welcome family to the Thanksgiving gathering with wise words:

"You can't soar with the eagles when you're surrounded by turkeys."

She followed it with making heavy eye contact with all in attendance.
